How to Edit Your Test Case in QA Trak

Congratulations on creating your first test case with QA Trak! Sometimes, your test case might work perfectly the first time, but you might need to make some tweaks other times. Don’t worry; it’s easy to edit your test cases. Here’s how:

Step 1: Accessing the Test Case for Editing

First, go to your Test Case screen. Look for the blue edit pencil icon next to your test case and click on it. This will take you to the Test Case Steps page.

Step 2: Editing Individual Steps

On the Test Case Steps page, you’ll see a list of all the steps in your test case. Each step has its own blue edit pencil icon. Click this icon on any step you want to modify. This lets you change what happens in that particular step.

Step 3: Adding, Rearranging, and Removing Steps

You’re not limited to just editing existing steps. You can also add new steps to your test case. If you think of something you forgot to include, add a new step at the right place.

Rearranging steps is just as easy. You may realize that a step makes more sense earlier or later in the test. No problem – drag and drop the steps to rearrange their order. You’ll see step numbers to help guide you.

Need to remove a step? That’s simple, too. If a step is no longer necessary, you can remove it from your test case.

Step 4: Saving Your Changes

Remember to save your changes after you’ve made all your edits, added new steps, rearranged, or removed steps. This will update your test case with all the new modifications.

A Few Tips

  • Take your time: Test case editing is crucial to ensuring your testing is effective. Don’t rush through it.
  • Test after editing: Once you’ve edited your test case, run it again to ensure your changes work as expected.

Editing your test case in QA Trak is a straightforward process. With these simple steps, you can ensure your test case does exactly what you need. Happy testing! 🚀
